No, I’m not talking about my cats. My carnivores have been hibernating since early winter.
Last year I bought a couple venus flytraps. I had no prior experience with these. I read that they need a dormant period and one way to do that is to put them in a dark, cool place for a few months.

A few months in a ziplok bag in a paper bag in the fridge ought to do it.
They live in bogs with virtually no nutrients in the soil. (which is why they get their nutrients from meat) I transplanted them into plain peat moss and will keep them damp until they, hopefully, show signs of life again.
